Sharjah24: Dibba Al Hisn Municipality has completed a number of agricultural projects from the beginning of January to May 2021, which included projects to develop the infrastructure for irrigation systems, and projects to add new agricultural areas, in addition to the rehabilitation of some places that needed to be replanted, So far it has covered about 35,000 square meters.
His Excellency Taleb Abdullah Al Yahyai, Director of the Dibba Al Hisn Municipality, said that the municipality is keen to implement and develop various agricultural projects in the utopian city, in order to increase the green areas in it, in implementation of the visions and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.
Al Yahyai noted that the municipality has an annual plan for agricultural projects, through which the places that need cultivation are identified, and the types of flowers, trees and shrubs of an aesthetic character that are suitable for each place in the city are selected, in addition to covering the largest possible amount of green areas during each plan.
On her part, Ibtisam Abdullah Al-Naqbi, in charge of the tasks of the Department of Plastic Agriculture for roads in the municipality, explained that more than 18 workers from the support groups, 4 technicians, observers, and an agricultural engineer worked in these projects, and 7 heavy and light machines were used, and about 14,800 meters were supplied.
