Sharjah 24: The Department of Islamic Affairs (DIA) in Sharjah inaugurated four mosques in Sharjah and Al Batayeh. The four mosques were provided with all the necessary facilities that serve worshippers.
The construction of the mosques combined the Islamic and modern architectural styles, and all together can accommodate approximately 2550 male and female worshipers.
The department's continuous efforts aim to keep pace with the development plan of the Emirate of Sharjah and to meet the needs of the residents of areas experiencing urban development and population density.
Abdullah Khalifa Yarouf Al Sebousi, Head of DIA, indicated that the department has rushed to open these mosques in response to the needs of the residents of these areas that are witnessing an accelerated urban renaissance, in continuation of the approach to construct mosques in all suburbs and regions in fulfillment of the visions of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to provide access of emirate’s residents' to places of worship so that they carry out their rituals with ease and reassurance.
