The tournament was held over 7 days, in Sharjah Sports Club stadiums, from April 25 to May 1, and included 34 players from the club’s age groups, being distributed over 8 teams in accordance to age groups. The tournament was held in a one-round league system, whereas the first and second groups were qualified to the semi finals with a knock-out match. Each team adopted the name of one of the current handball teams stars.
His Excellency Mohamed Obaid, board member and head of Group Games Administration, and Mr. Jassem Mohamed, a member of the Group Games Administration, supervisor of the handball team, crowned the winning teams.
The "Mohamed Ismail" team won the first place, followed by the "Mahmoud Fayez" team that won the silver medals, then the "Ali Zain" team winning the bronze medals. "Tariq Shaheen" team won the gold medals, and "Firas Muhammad" team won the silver medals for the younger age groups.
The future stars in Sharjah Sports Club received prizes, where Abdullah Yaqoub and Nahyan Mubarak won the best player award. The best goalkeeper award went to Khaled Khalil and Mana Rashid, and Omar Muhammad Ali and Muhammad Issa won the tournament’s top scorer cup.
The head of Group Games Administration awarded the club’s shield to honour the family of the late Hamad Abu Shabas.
