Sharjah 24: The Cultural and Media Office of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs (SCFA) in Sharjah organised a Ramadan evening as part of the Sharjah Cultural Salon programme “Islamic values and their future role in facing the challenges of social life (human relations).”
The evening was presented by Dr. Fathi Abdul Rahman Al Hofi, Associate Professor at the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies at Al Qasimia University.

Moderated by Dr. Mohammed bin Jarash, the session emphasised that the family is the basic base and starting point for building the individual and society, and it is his honest fence in light of the severe challenges and changes that strike the foundations, constants and values on which society is based in the  system of its relationships.

Dr. Al Hofi also cast light on the most prominent social challenges that we live in now, being how to peacefully coexist in light of this religious, intellectual, cultural and social pluralism within the same community, adding that peaceful coexistence and tolerance with the other does not mean diluting the Islamic identity and compromising the values and perceptions of Islam, and tolerance does not eliminate differences, but rather establishes for the human relationships that Islam wants to dominate people's lives.

He cited the UAE experience in the peaceful coexistence, stressing that the UAE is a pioneering model that contemporary human societies should follow through its pioneering experience in coexistence for all followers of the monotheistic religions.
