Part of the Sharjah Art Foundation Collection, these films are being screened in parallel with the ongoing exhibition, Unsettled Objects, which features recently acquired and rarely seen Collection works by over 30 artists. The screenings will be followed by Q&A sessions with the film directors.
The selected films explore histories of conflict and trauma as well as the arbitrary concept of being a migrant in and of itself. Often relying on memory, the filmmakers tell stories that seek to rupture what is widely assumed about a place or its experiences, creating instead complex universes for new forms of imagination to emerge.
