Sharjah24: Sharjah Women Sports decided to organise a 3x3basketball tournament for young women from different nationalities in the country, in a strategic partnership with Sharjah Sports Council and cooperation with the Basketball Association, on April 6 in the city of Khorfakkan, in its first edition.
The organising committee of the championship was formed by Noura Al-Hamer as a general supervisor, in addition to other committees aimed at making this first sporting event successful in the game, as Suad Nada Askar Al-Naqbi, Director General of the Sharjah Women’s Sports, confirmed that there are many goals for this tournament, including the consolidation of sports culture and community awareness, promote women's practice of sports and create a stimulating sporting environment.
Nada Al-Naqbi said: “We seek, in cooperation with all responsible sports authorities to revitalize the game not only in the Sharjah Women’s Sports Club and its branches, but at the state level through this one-day event in a distinct area also in the city of Khorfakkan, and also in order to attract talented players. From all regions, highlighting the organisation role in setting up revitalizing initiatives that appeal to girls.
She added, "We consider these matches also to contact our players with professional players and gain experience, and we aim from this tournament for the participation of 40 players of all nationalities in the country."
Nada Al-Naqbi confirmed that all severe precautionary measures will be taken so that this day will come out in a completely appropriate health form and according to the protocol in force in the country, from the strict preventive measures that are applied in all sporting events.
For her part, Noura Al-Hamar, the tournament general supervisor, said that each team consists of a maximum of 4 players (3 primary and 1 reserve) or a minimum of 3 players from different nationalities in the country, and the match time is 10 minutes or 21 points are scored before the end of the match time, and attendance "At least 20 minutes before the start of the match, the team has no right to add any player after they rely on the registration sheet at the start of the tournament."
She added: "Among the conditions and laws of the tournament also is that the team is not entitled to add any player after they are approved by the registration sheet at the start of the tournament, and in the event that there is an injury in the team, the team has the right to replace the injured player after submitting a report to the organising committee of the tournament, provided that the report is approved by the doctor of medicine. The athlete is in the Leaders Preparation Center in Dubai, with the necessity to adhere to the uniforms of sports for each team, as well as adhere to high sporting ethics, and international law will be applied to the game with referees certified by the Basketball Federation to manage the matches.
One of the conditions for registering for the championship is that the form be filled out and sent to the organising committee before 4 April.
