Sharjh24: The heads and members of the boards of directors of health associations of the Health Promotion Department at the Supreme Council for Family Affairs commended the resolutions issued by Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs (SCFA), on the restructuring of the boards of directors of the health associations, emphasizing that this wise move would help the associations step up their efforts towards launching tailored initiatives for the health and wellbeing of Sharjah community.
He Excellency Khawla Taher Al-Hajj, Head of the Friends of Diabetes Association, said: “The mandate given to us by Sheikha Jawaher is a great catalyst for hard work and dedication. It also implies her highness's keenness and attention to providing full care and support to the Diabetes Friends Association in its endeavors to cement the concepts of healthy lifestyles and improve public health among the individuals.”

Al-Hajj underscored the Association’s commitment to launching quality initiatives and programs aimed to enhance people’s awareness about diabetes and provide full support to patients with diabetes.

Expressing her happiness with this honor, He Excellency Wahida Abdul Aziz, Head of the Friends of Arthritis Patients Society, stressed that the decisions encourage us to work tirelessly to maintain the gains and move steadily toward the future, stressing that the patronage and strenuous follow-up of Sheikha Jawaher was a key reason for the Association to become one of the leading entities in maintaining the health of arthritis patients.

Abdul Aziz underlined the Association’s commitment to providing medical services to arthritis patients as per the best international practices.

Praising the decisions, He Excellency Eng. Khawla Abdulaziz Al-Numan, Head of the Breastfeeding Friends Association, pledged to Sheikha Jawaher to continue the march of giving and diligent work towards unlocking more achievements guided by her highness’s wise visions and directives to cultivate the spirit of innovation in all areas of work.

Stressing the Association’s commitment to continuing support to mothers and ramping up efforts on the importance of breastfeeding for the mother and child, Al-Numan expressed her deep gratitude to the relentless efforts and unlimited support of Sheikha Jawaher to the Association’s initiatives and projects.

In the same vein, He Excellency Maryam bin Dukheen, Head of the Friends of Kidney Patients Association, expressed her deep pride in the honor given to her and all members of the associations, adding: “It puts more responsibility on our shoulders to undertake the tasks optimally. This includes improving the physical and mental health of kidney patients and creating new ways to convey our message and vision to the largest possible number of UAE society.”

For her part, He Excellency Sawsan Al-Fahoum Jafar, Head of the Friends of Cancer Patients, said: The decisions bring hope and optimism for the associations to continue on the path of success under the patronage of her highness. They also represent a roadmap for the voluntary work system to pursue its mission towards reducing the impacts of cancer.”

She affirmed that the Association strives to become a key source of cancer awareness by providing financial and moral support to patients and raising their awareness of the causes of cancer disease and ways of prevention and treatment.
