Engineer Hassan Al Zarouni, Director of the Electricity Services Department at SEWA, stated that more than 38 government sites and buildings in the Emirate of Sharjah will be reduced the lightening system with the aim of spreading the culture of environmental awareness and preserving the planet.
Al Zarouni praised the cooperation and joint coordination with Sharjah Environment and Protected Authority and Sharjah Police in preparing the sites and landmarks that will be turned off the lightening system during the Earth Hour.
For his part, Eng. Ahmed Al Mulla, Director of Khorfakkan Department at SEWA, emphasised that several landmarks and areas will be reduced the lightening system in Khorfakkan, in line with the global environmental event aimed at increasing the environmental awareness of all segments of society and presenting the proper solutions for the global warming.
Eng. Khalifa Al Tunaiji, Director of the Central Region Administration at SEWA, stated that 143 lighting columns in Al Dhaid industrial area will be turned off the lightening system. He also affirmed that 122 lightening columns at new Dhaid Hospital road, the Al-Khawatir suburb, and 38 columns at Al-Shariah Road would also be extinguished on the Earth Hour.
