Sharjah 24: Mona Abdul Karim Al Yafie, Director of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS), confirmed that the numbers and statistics in Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services reflect its services that keep pace with international best practices through technical transformation and the development of infrastructure for work systems and technologies, such as the launch of the e-learning and training platform.
Al Yafie’s words came while participating in the first virtual scientific symposium "Teaching Children with Disabilities during the Corona Pandemic: Arabic Experiences " organised Tuesday by the Department of Early Education at the College of Education at Sultan Qaboos University, with the participation of a number of Arab specialists.

Al Yafie touched on SCHS preparations with the onset of the crisis caused by the Corona pandemic, facing the challenge with its experience and concern for its students, specialists and workers, confirming its commitment and great interest in their health, in full accordance with the prevention, security and safety measures in place in the UAE.

She stated that SCHS has issued a guide to the continuity of providing services with the aim of ensuring that it continues to be provided in an appropriate manner that meets the needs of its members, and ensures that it is not interrupted according to a work system based on three main precautionary themes: health and safety, activating the strategy of working remotely for employees and facilitating their mission, and media coverage and continuity of communication . 

Then, Al Yafie spoke about the stages of work, which are: the preparatory stage, the executive stage, and the safe return stage.

The Director of SCHS concluded, “We did not imagine one day that the world would change like this, and that we would virtually provide our services to people with disabilities, but we were able to achieve goals, overcome difficulties and face challenges with wise, successful leadership, persistence, determination, dedication, and teamwork, as well as setting alternative plans in preparation for crises that may face us in the future."
