Sharjah 24: Sharjah Charity International (SCI) continues its relief mission in the Republic of Sudan, providing humanitarian support to the affected families.
The relief campaigns are within the framework of its humanitarian mission and in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
This comes thanks to the support of donors, SCI through its office in Khartoum, provided relief aid in the Karni area of Al Farouq, which is among the areas affected by the floods that struck the country last year.
Mohammed Hamdan Al Zari, Director of External Projects and Kafala Department, confirmed that SCI extended its bid towards the Karni area in Al Farouq, after the flood disaster that befell the place last year.
Al Zari continued that the assistance included the initiation of building 100 housing units as a first stage as an alternative to housing for a number to those who lost their homes. In addition, SCI also launched a desalination plant in the Karni area.
Al Zari maintained that the project consisted of technical agreement signed to connect the water networks in the area.
Al Zari indicated that the project would cover the needs of 620 families from the region’s residents, and the project is scheduled to be completed in mid-May of this year, at a financial cost of a quarter of a million dirhams.
