SSSD honours winners of Holy Quran competition

Sharjah 24: Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD) celebrated the winners of its first competition for the Holy Qur’an, which was organised remotely, through visual technology platforms, in cooperation with the Sharjah Noble Quran and Sunnah Establishment.
The competition, which was launched during the year 2020, through the virtual platform Zoom, included 4 categories of the SSSD’s affiliates, with the aim of encouraging them to memorise and understand the Holy Quran. 

SSSD allocated valuable cash prizes for the ten winners of the various participating age groups, which are: 60 years and over, 40 to 59,  20 to 39, in addition to 13 to 19, and 6 to 12.

During the ceremony, His Excellency Sultan Matar bin Dalmouk, Chairman of Sharjah Noble Quran and Sunnah Establishment, expressed happiness to participate in the Noble Qur’an ceremony that targets the most important group in society.

His Excellency praised the result achieved by the contestants and congratulating them on this performance and on what they have memorised from the Holy Qur’an, wishing them the best.

His Excellency praised the success of the remote organisation of the competition, appreciating the efforts of SSSD in motivating the community to memorise the Holy Quran, and the department role in the success of this competition.

From her side, Maryam Al Qatari, Executive Director of Welfare and Social Protection Affairs at the department stated that SSSD is keen to establish programmes and events that would improve the individuals and society in general and the categories of the needy in social care in particular.

Al Qatari thanked and appreciated the efforts exerted by the Sharjah Noble Quran and Sunnah Establishment, and its cooperation with the department in helping the department’s affiliates memorise the Holy Quran.
