Sharjah 24: The International Karate Forum, organised by the Sharjah Self-Defence Sports Club under the title "Foreseeing karate in the next stage of the Corona pandemic", discussed the impact of COVID- 19 on clubs and teams.
The event witnessed the discussion with regard to the positive experiences implemented to reduce COVID19's negative effects, and it concluded the need to support the psychological side of athletes.
His Excellency Ahmed Abdulrahman Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Self-Defence Sports Club, thanked the guests of the forum for their experiences and ideas in support of the future of karate in the next phase of the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond, which are part of ways to explore the future of the sport.
During the forum, the participants discussed the best procedures and experiences that have been implemented by clubs and federations around the world in order to reduce the repercussions in anticipation of the post-Corona stage, in addition to ways to support private clubs by the federations to continue to play their role positively in the post-COVID-19.
The speakers stressed the importance of coexisting with the pandemic to mitigate its negative impact by adopting the best solutions, which enabled the continuation of sports training and continued achievement during the last period, and work to devise new and more effective methods.
The participants also discussed the importance of focusing on holding forums through smart applications to sustain communication and exchange experiences in various countries to spread the benefit and strengthening of solidarity between sporting bodies to overcome challenges collectively.
