ABEGS, ALECSO sign Cooperation agreement

Sharjah24: The Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States (ABEGS) in Sharjah on Thursday singed a memorandum of understanding with the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) remotely.
The agreement will keep pace with modern global trends in the development of teaching, learning and protection of the Arabic language, and emphasising the importance of the role that the partnership between community institutions plays in improving the level of performance, to develop and spread the teaching and protection of the Arabic language.

ABEGS was represented by His Excellency Dr. Issa Al-Hammadi, Director of the Center, ALECSO was represented by His Excellency Prof. Dr. Mohamed Wld Omar.

The MoU aims to enhance cooperation and exchange of experiences with relevant institutions with the aim of developing and implementing joint programmes with institutions concerned with the promotion and protection of the Arabic language, and cooperation in developing and implementing programmes and mechanisms to spread awareness of the importance of the Arabic language and its role in promoting national identity and belonging.

The agreement will enhance coordination between the two parties regarding the services provided to serve the Arabic language by community institutions and how to employ them to benefit from them, and exchange scientific, intellectual and cultural publications between the two parties.

The two parties also agreed to form a committee from the two parties, called the Joint Committee, and to implement the terms of the agreement by looking at the list of proposed projects between the two parties, and developing plans and proposals for activities and events that could be implemented in cooperation between the two parties.
