Sharjah24: Sharjah Department of Public Works (SDPW) has completed the development of the public park located in the northern neighborhood of the city, which has an area of 40,000 square meters, according to Engineer Ali bin Shaheen Al Suwaidi, head SDPW.
The works included the construction of a football field made of artificial turf on an area of 2,200 square meters, another multi-use field equipped with a rubber floor of an area of 1280 square meters, in addition to two areas for children’s games suitable for all age groups, one with a rubber floor and the other with a sandy floor to suit all tastes surrounded by suitable seats for parents to monitor their children while playing.
The project falls within the department's development plan to implement the needs of municipal councils in order to develop public facilities and services, and keep pace with the development programmes that the city is witnessing.
The park also includes a building that contains internal halls for various activities and games, a dining hall auxiliary to the cafeteria, kitchen and toilets, as well as an internal rubber running track surrounding the park with a length of 786 meters and a width of 4 meters.
Eng. Muhammad bin Yarouf Director of the Branches Department, emphasised the increased interest of the department in the parks and entertainment destinations in the city.
