The campaign aims to spread traffic awareness among drivers, to reduce traffic accidents through committing to traffic lanes and other related traffic regulations, to protect their lives and the lives of others.
Captain Saud Al Shaiba, director of the traffic awareness and information section at Sharjah Police, confirmed that the campaign aims to reduce traffic accidents and the resulting deaths and serious injuries. He added that the campaign is launched in line with the leadership's vision consistent with the Ministry of Interior's strategy aimed at making roads safer.
Targeting all segments of the community, the trilingual campaign ( Arabic, English and Urdu), Al Shaiba explained, will be through various media forms including videos and the police various social media accounts, as well as through posters on shopping malls across the emirate.
Captain Al Shaiba said that non-abidance by traffic lanes spearheads the major causes of accidents; therefore, traffic patrols have been deployed and intensified all year round with the purpose of spreading awareness among members of the community, calling on drivers to abide by traffic rules and regulations for their own safety and the safety of other road users.
