Sharjah 24: Sharjah Police (SP) Vehicles and Drivers Licencing Department, in cooperation with the Emirates Post, launched 'People of Determination Cards' initiative as a proactive service, concerned with the issuance, renewal and delivery of cards for People of Determination to their residence, without personally coming to the headquarters of the department.
This comes as an embodiment of the Ministry of Interior's strategy to enhance customer satisfaction with the services provided, and in the interest of SP to support all steps taken by the Sharjah government.
Such exerted efforts save a lot of effort and time for customers, and the initiative came with the aim of increasing the satisfaction of the community members, especially People of Determination with the services provided.
Lt. Col. Khaled Al Kai, Director of the Vehicles and Drivers Licencing Department, affirmed that SP is keen to provide all the necessary services that satisfy its customers and exceed their expectations, since the department attaches great importance to People of Determination, as it is an important segment of society.
Al Kai indicated that the initiative came within the package launched by SP to make its customers happy, pointing out that the department, in cooperation with Emirates Post, delivered 750 cards to the homes of its customers of People of Determination in January.
Al Kai continued that the application process for the 'People of Determination Cards' service is available to People of Determination who own a special card from the Ministry of Community Development, which proves their eligibility for this service.
Al Kai added that the service is provided by entering SP’s website, www.shjpolice.gov.ae, and from choosing the services for people with disabilities from the traffic and licencing services box, the customer is asked to fill in all the required data. The concerned employee reviews the request to which a message is sent via e-mail approving it. After that, the card is delivered to the customer’s home, without the need to come personally, which saves time and effort, noting that the service is automatically renewed at the beginning of each year.
It is worth noting that the service can be used as well, via the WhatsApp application, or through the call centre via the number 065177555, for receiving all requests and responding to inquiries.
