Sharjah24: A renewal of the understanding existing since 2005, and consolidating the fruitful cooperation between Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS) and the University of Sharjah (UoS), Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Director General of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS) and Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, this December, signed a memorandum of understanding in which the two sides agreed to cooperate in academic, research, training and other fields an area of common interest in the future.
Her Excellency Sheikha Jameela Al Qasimi stressed that the memorandum comes within the framework of developing and strengthening cooperation with local, Arab and international institutions and bodies, and developing services provided to people with disabilities in accordance with international best practices, expressing her hope that the agreement will be a strong motivation for joint action between the two sides.
Sheikha Jameela Al Qasimi affirmed that SCHS aims to provide a distinguished level of humanitarian services to its enrollees, as it adopts the issues of persons with disabilities in an effort to enable them to live in dignity and independence, and is working to achieve the principle of equal opportunities by removing moral and environmental barriers.
For his part, Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy stressed the importance of cooperation with local institutions in order to serve and develop society, adding that the University of Sharjah has a great and long-term cooperation with Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, especially through the University's Resource Center for People with Disabilities, which works to provide all forms Support and care for students with disabilities, since it was established by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
According to the memorandum signed between them, the two sides are obligated to encourage the visits of graduate students and their working cadres for the purposes of training, exchange of experiences, lectures, conduct joint research, or participate in conferences they hold, or otherwise, in a way that contributes to developing the competence of their cadres.
The two parties are also committed to exchanging books, publications and scientific publications and establishing joint research teams in the educational, medical, nutritional, sociology and related fields in addition to encouraging specialiSed international conferences, and developing cooperation in the field of scientific research by undertaking joint research while working to publish it in peer-reviewed journals.
