Sharjah 24: Within the framework of security preparations, through which the Sharjah Police General Command seeks to achieve security and safety for members of society, and in line with achieving the strategic objectives of the Ministry of Interior aimed at enhancing security and safety. His Excellency Brigadier General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, made an inspection visit to the Security Inspection Department (k9), to see the extent of the department’s preparations and readiness to deal with various events.
Brigadier General bin Amer was accompanied by Brigadier General Ibrahim bin Nassar, Deputy Director General of Resources and Support Services, and Brigadier General Ibrahim Musabah Al Ajel, Deputy Director General of Police Operations. They were received by Brigadier General Yunus Al Hajri, Director of the Ports and Airports Department, Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Ahmed Adel Khamis Al Maamari, Head of the Security Inspection Department (k9) and a number of specialised officers.
Brigadier General bin Amer began his visit by inspecting the veterinary clinic and police dog barns. In addition to listening to a comprehensive explanation provided by the head of the department, Lieutenant Colonel Al Maamari, through which he reviewed the organisational structure of the department and the departments that it supports in performing the duties entrusted to them, which include 10 from different the departments and organisational units of Sharjah Police.
Brigadier bin Amer was also briefed on innovative idea presented by the Veterinary Services Branch, and the most important achievements of the department during the past three years, along with the most prominent specialisations of the branches of the department. In addition to introducing the types of drugs, explosives, and the mechanism for training police dogs to seize them, and their role in the detection of COVID-19.
Brigadier General bin Amer also witnessed a field presentation on the work of police dogs, which included how to use police dogs to detect COVID-19, drugs and explosives.
The Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police commended the efforts made by the officers, non-commissioned officers and workers of the K9 Security Inspection Department in securing and protecting the community of the Emirate of Sharjah, through their cooperation in the support operations of the various departments and units operating in Sharjah Police. He also praised the role of police dogs and their success in implementing the training the field, which helps detect drugs and explosives of all kinds, in addition to strengthening preventive efforts and measures to limit the spread of the coronavirus, which will positively affect the quality of life for the UAE community.
