SLCCC organises Flag Day championship

Sharjah24: As part of the UAE Flag Day celebration, Sharjah Ladies Chess & Cultural Club (SLCCC) organised a Flag Open Day championship with the participation of 174 players.

The great international professor, Dr. Basem Amin from Egypt won the championship and first place, while the second place was the great international professor Dmitry Komarov from Ukraine, and the third place was won by Danita Kiaba from Philippines, while the great international professor Salem Abdel Rahman won the title of best citizen player. 

The championship came as part of the club’s celebration of the UAE Flag Day, in which it considers as a great opportunity to spread the game inside and outside the country. 

For her part, Najla Abdulla Ahmed Al Shamsi, Chairperson of the Chess & Cultural Club for Women in Sharjah expressed her pleasure of the success that the championship has been achieved, emphasising that the club members decided to celebrate this national occasion by involving players from different countries of the world in this championship in order to spread the game in Arab and international levels.

Al Shamsi concluded her speech by extending her gratitude to all participants in the championship, wishing them all success and wellbeing in their life.
