At the beginning of the meeting, the Chairman and members of the Organising Committee of Ports and Border Checkpoints have expressed their thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, lauding his continuous support and wise directives to upgrade the services provided through the emirate’s ports. They have also extended their thanks to Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of Sharjah Executive Council, praising his continuous follow-up.
The Committee’s Chairman welcomed the members, stressing the keenness of the wise leadership in the government of Sharjah to improve the performance of the ports and border checkpoints in the emirate and improve the quality of provided services, indicating that the committee aims to strengthen cooperation and coordination mechanisms with the competent authorities working in the ports and border checkpoints of the emirate.
The head of the Committee praised the efforts of all the teams working at the ports and border checkpoints in light of the repercussions and challenges of the (COVID-19) outbreak over the past period, reflecting the spirit of integration and harmony between all security, government, health and voluntary working teams.
The meeting's agenda reviewed the Executive Council’s decision to form the committee and the tasks, discussing the general situation of the ports and border checkpoints in the Emirate of Sharjah, in addition to reviewing the development plan of the Khatmat Malaha Port submitted by the Public Authority for the Security of Ports, Borders and Free Zones.
