“As soon as a report was received that the 39-year-old citizen’s body had been found behind Eid’s prayer hall in Fujairah, the security forces began their investigation to determine the circumstances to uncover the crime, after the forensic doctor confirmed that there was a criminal suspicion,” said Brigadier General Hamid Mohammed Al Yamahi, director-general of police operations.
An investigation team was formed, led by the director of the Criminal Investigation Department.
In details, Brigadier General Mohamed Ahmed Al Shaer, director of the Criminal Investigation Department, stated that the assigned team has analysed and studied the crime scene and removed the criminal traces from the theatre and from the victim’s vehicle and the perpetrator’s statement said that on the day of the incident he saw the victim’s vehicle parked behind the Eid place of worship in a dark area and in a working condition, so he surprised him, opened the back door and went on the sitting in the back seat, and threatened the suspect with a firearm with the motive of theft, but the victim immediately got out of the vehicle, so the perpetrator shot. He was shot with a firearm, which he stole from one of the residential villas, after which he made him bleed and fled the scene, using the victim’s vehicle, and parked it on the shore in a dark place.
