Sharjah 24: Sharjah Police General Command revealed that they have installed five new radars on the Sharjah - Khorfakkan Road. The radars are on both directions from Shis to Khorfakkan. The new radars are concentrated in hotspots, which require setting the speed limit on the streets. The step aims to reduce traffic accidents by designating a speed limit on the emirate's roads.
Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, affirmed that the installation of the new radars came in line with the vision of the Ministry of Interior to achieve its strategic objective aiming at enhancing security and safety, and making roads safer. Al Shamsi explained that Sharjah Police seeks to limit excess speed, and reduce accidents on the road, especially with a newly built road including 5 tunnels, which may tempt some drivers to exceed speed.

Al Shamsi urged the public using Sharjah - Khorfakkan Road to adhere to speed limit, pointing out that excessive speed threatens all road users and exposes them to danger causing losses of lives and property. He concluded by calling on everyone, citizens, residents, and visitors, to disseminate the culture of safe driving and reducing excessive speed to prevent accidents.
