Sharjah24: Sharjah Municipality (SM) announced that its Central Laboratories Sector has received the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) accreditation for the 21st continuous year.
A delegation of the accreditation body renewed the trust in the Central Laboratories Sector after a remote inspection visit made recently.
Thabit Salem Al Tarifi, Director General of Sharjah Municipality, stressed that this accreditation is a testimony for the municipality in general and the Central Laboratories Sector in specific for their qualitative work that led to obtaining the most prestigious certificate (ISO /IEC 17025:2017) in addition to several other international recognitions.
heikha Shatha Al Mualla, Assistant Director-General of the Public Health and Central Laboratories Sector of Sharjah Municipality said that the inspection lasted 4 days in order to receive the accreditation which was first received by SM in 1999 as the first governmental laboratory to receive it in the Middle East.
