Shamsa Al Mazrouei, Head of the Department of Culture Office in Wadi Al Helo, said the programmes included the “Cultural Stations” initiative, which organised a session titled “A Tale from Heritage” for students of Wadi Al Helo School on Tuesday morning.
The session, held at Wadi Al Helo Public Library, targeted students from the first, second and third cycles and aimed to introduce them to Emirati folk tales and to strengthen their connection with local cultural heritage.
Al Mazrouei said the programme saw strong interaction and participation from students through activities centred on Emirati folk tales, helping to introduce younger generations to the national heritage and to preserve it.
Speaking to “Sharjah24”, she said the Department of Culture’s programmes in the Eastern Region also support poetry and poets through literary councils, readings, poetry sessions, and literary sessions, alongside cultural programmes for children under the “Cultural Stations” initiative.
She added that the department’s upcoming agenda includes a number of cultural events and festivals in Kalba and Khorfakkan, as well as cultural caravans in Shis and Al Nahwa, featuring poetry, art, and cultural and entertainment activities.
