The meeting brought together representatives from the Contracts Department, the Projects Department, the Maintenance Department, the Strategic Planning and Quality Centre, the IT Centre, and the Branches Department. Each outlined the services it delivers, how those services currently run, and where development is needed to raise quality — whether that means faster turnaround, easier access, or clearer procedures for customers.
For its part, the Sharjah Digital Department (SDD) presented its methodology for reviewing services, the tools it uses to analyse procedures, and how it measures customer experience. It also walked through international models for developing construction services and how those could be adapted locally. The two teams then discussed ways to simplify the customer journey, cut down the number of steps needed to complete transactions, bring service channels together under one roof, and strengthen the digital systems that support all of this.
Discussion also turned to the specific challenges facing certain services, and the need for tighter integration between databases and stronger electronic links between the relevant authorities – both to keep information accurate and speed up how it's shared. The two sides looked ahead to future development opportunities as well, including applying better standards to user-interface design so that services are easier to access and quicker to complete.
Wrapping up the meeting, SDPW and the Sharjah Digital Department agreed on the importance of keeping this coordination going, with regular meetings to track the project's progress and assess how the proposed improvements are landing. Both stressed that upgrading construction-sector services is a pivotal step in supporting the emirate's urban development, easing procedures for individuals and companies alike, and improving quality of life across Sharjah.
