During the visit, the delegation was briefed on a range of services and programmes provided by the department for people of determination, including mechanisms for monitoring their needs and assessing their cases, as well as rehabilitation and social programmes that enhance their capabilities and independence and support their integration and participation in society.
The two sides discussed opportunities for cooperation and knowledge exchange, as well as ways to draw on successful practices in developing programmes and services for people of determination.
They also explored mechanisms for applying these practices and for leveraging them to further develop services provided to this group in Dibba Al Hisn.
The Dibba Al Hisn City Council delegation comprised Rashid Ahmed Khasaw Al Naqbi, Chairman of the District Affairs Committee; Mohammed Ali Khanbool, Chairman of the Social and Cultural Committee; Omar Darwish Ahmed; Ahmed Ali Al Tayari; and Asma Khalfan Al Naqbi, all council members.
Representing the Sharjah Social Services Department were Mariam Al Shamsi, Chairperson of the department; Sulaiman Khamis Al Naqbi, Director of the department; Alia Al Zaabi, Director of the Social Assistance Department; Ahmed Al Bihani, Director of the Government Communication Office; and Mariam Al Muhairi, Director of the Knowledge Office.
Sharjah Social Services Department provides people of determination with an integrated range of services, including home-based care, healthcare and rehabilitation, physiotherapy, social follow-up and needs assessment.
The services also include social support and assistance, as well as rehabilitation programmes and activities designed to enhance independence and promote integration into the community.
