Sharjah Awqaf launches Child Protection Endowment

Sharjah24: As part of the department’s commitment to developing sustainable endowments that respond to community needs and expand the impact of endowment initiatives across various sectors, and recognising the importance of children as the foundation of society and one of the key pillars in building its future, the Department of Awqaf in Sharjah has launched the Child Protection Endowment.

The proceeds from the endowment will be allocated to supporting programmes and initiatives dedicated to protecting and empowering children, while providing a sustainable source of funding that contributes to strengthening efforts to care for them and enhance their quality of life.

Protecting and empowering children is a shared responsibility

Building on this, Taleb Al Marri, Director-General of the Department of Awqaf , said: “The Child Protection Endowment reflects the department’s continued commitment to directing endowment initiatives towards community needs and strengthening their impact in a sustainable manner.

“We believe that protecting and empowering children is a shared societal responsibility, and that endowments have the power to transform giving into a lasting impact — giving that safeguards childhood, supports children’s growth and empowers them to shape their own future by supporting organisations and institutions dedicated to nurturing and caring for children.”
