In remarks to Sharjah24, Al Huwaidi said the healthcare category was introduced in collaboration with Mass General Brigham Hospital and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in the United States. She said the addition broadens the scope of innovation the award is targeting in its latest edition, opening the door to entrants working on medical and health-related solutions alongside the award's traditional sustainability focus.
Al Huwaidi added that the award has signed a partnership with Sheraa to incubate the projects that qualify for the final stage of the competition. The collaboration will also include a dedicated workshop for shortlisted participants, aimed at helping them further develop their projects and reinforcing the award's role in celebrating the achievements of innovators working in sustainability.
