On Sunday, the campaign organised a field event at 06 Mall Sharjah in coordination with BEEAH. The event featured interactive activities, gifts for the public, and various educational and awareness workshops aimed at raising public awareness of the importance of sustainability and using environmentally friendly alternatives.
The Sharjah Government Media Bureau supports the campaign by enhancing its media presence, developing awareness messages and content, and coordinating with participating entities to ensure consistency across published media and digital materials. This helps broaden the campaign’s reach among different segments of society and strengthen its awareness impact.
According to Sultan bin Huwaiden Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Sharjah Department of Municipal Affairs, the community’s response to the campaign’s educational programme has demonstrated a clear willingness to participate in and support efforts to adopt more sustainable alternatives. This supports the campaign’s objectives of expanding its presence and delivering its messages to new audiences and locations in coordination with participating entities.
He noted that the campaign’s activities aim to present sustainability concepts in a simple and interactive manner and encourage community members, particularly children and families, to adopt environmentally friendly practices and understand the impact of their daily choices in reducing reliance on single-use products.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Qasimi, Director of the Sharjah Department of Municipal Affairs, said the campaign will move into its next phase by expanding institutional participation through coordinating the plans of partner entities and organising their activities under a unified approach. He noted that this coordination will help diversify activities and reach audiences at different locations while maintaining clear and consistent messaging.
He added that the department continues to support the campaign’s field presence with integrated digital content by distributing awareness posts to partners, adopting a unified digital signature for the campaign among Sharjah Government employees, and publishing informational materials through the department’s social media accounts to encourage community participation and broaden engagement.
The campaign continues to expand its field activities following the completion of the first phase of its interactive educational platform at Rahmania Mall and the organisation of awareness workshops and events at 06 Mall Sharjah in cooperation with participating entities.
The ‘Sharjah Deserves the Best’ campaign will continue until the end of December 2026 as part of a phased implementation based on a comprehensive and intensive approach aimed at reducing the use of single-use products and encouraging more sustainable practices.
