The Authority’s participation for the fourth year in a row came within the framework of its keenness to publicise its efforts and projects in sustaining fish wealth and preserving the marine environment, in addition to highlighting the UAE’s marine heritage and enhancing its presence among various segments of society in modern and interactive ways.
Interactive experiences highlight sustainability projects
The Authority’s platform saw a wide turnout from various age groups, and included a group of interactive corners and experiences, most notably the Maritime Museum, and the “Projects That Create Sustainability” corner, which reviewed the Authority’s projects and achievements, including artificial caves and their role in supporting the marine environment and developing fish stocks, in addition to a virtual reality experience, and a “snapshot from the depths,” introducing aquaculture and its importance in supporting the sustainability of fish resources.
The Authority also participated in the festival's theatre activities through a number of competitions and awareness and interactive sessions, which witnessed wide participation from the public and the distribution of prizes to the winners.
Awareness activities promote marine heritage and conservation
His Excellency Ali Ahmed Abu Ghazin, Chairman of the Sharjah Fish Resources Authority, said: “The interest and interaction we saw during the festival days from various segments of society was appreciated and cherished, and we were pleased with the visitors’ interest in the diverse experiences and content provided by the Authority’s platform, which reflects our success in delivering the Authority’s messages to the public directly and close to them.”
Abu Ghazin added: “We are proud of the efforts made by the Authority’s team throughout the festival days, and we view this interaction as an incentive to continue developing our community participation and initiatives, and enhancing the Authority’s presence in various events, which contributes to establishing awareness of the importance of sustaining our fish resources and preserving our marine environment and our authentic heritage.”
At the conclusion of its participation, the Authority expressed its thanks and appreciation to those in charge of the festival, to all visitors to its platform, and to the work team that contributed to the success of the participation, stressing the continuation of its efforts in supporting the sustainability of fish wealth, preserving the marine environment, and preserving the UAE’s marine heritage for future generations.
