Michael Carrick’s side conceded twice in the first half, with Semi Ajayi and Nuno Mendes finding the net at the MKM Stadium.

Hull City, back in the Premier League for the first time since 2017, were without 10 players through injury but still produced a strong performance to secure a convincing victory over struggling United.

The result marks a frustrating start to Manchester United’s new season, with the club expected to challenge for the title after finishing third last season.
