British media reported that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex plan to leave the United States by the end of August and settle in a private, non-royal residence outside London.
Several British outlets also reported that their children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, have been enrolled at a British school ahead of the new academic year in September.
Harry and Meghan have lived in California since stepping down as working royals in 2020, amid tensions with the royal family. Their relationship with the family deteriorated further after their interview with Oprah Winfrey and the publication of Harry's memoir, Spare.
According to Britain's Press Association, King Charles III was informed of the couple's plans and welcomes the opportunity to spend more time with the family in a personal capacity. However, their royal status will remain unchanged, and they will not resume their duties as working royals.
The reported move follows a July visit by Harry, Meghan and their children to the UK, during which they reportedly held a private meeting with King Charles.
British media also reported that the couple intend to retain their home in Montecito, California, and a property in Portugal.
