Led by Her Excellency Halima Humaid Ali Al Owais, SCCI Board Member, the delegation will include female business leaders, entrepreneurs and representatives of key economic sectors in Sharjah, with the mission to facilitate direct business engagement, explore trade and investment opportunities and establish strategic partnerships.
The mission coincides with Emirati Women’s Day on 28 August, highlighting the growing contributions of Emirati women to business, investment and international economic cooperation.
A key component will be the Sharjah–Korea Businesswomen Forum, which will bring together UAE and Korean institutions and businesses to facilitate B2B engagement and foster potential partnerships and joint projects.
The forum will explore opportunities across sectors including technology and innovation, the digital economy, advanced manufacturing, beauty and personal care, fashion, tourism and hospitality, and the food industry.
His Excellency Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of SCCI, discussed preparations for the mission with His Excellency Lee Won-Ik, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the UAE, at the Chamber's headquarters.
Al Owais said that UAE–Korea economic relations are entering a new phase of growth following the implementation of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). He noted that SCCI aims to create new opportunities for Sharjah companies in the Korean market and to attract high-value Korean investment to the emirate.
Non-oil trade between the UAE and South Korea reached US$6.9 billion in 2025, and mutual investments exceeded US$10 billion, providing a strong foundation for further economic cooperation.
For his part, Lee Won-Ik welcomed the mission and the Sharjah–Korea Businesswomen Forum, and expressed interest in expanding cooperation with Sharjah in AI, energy, innovation, advanced industries and cultural exchange.
