Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) announced several achievements within its sustainable development plan to develop infrastructure in various areas of Sharjah during the first half of 2026.

The authority announced the completion of the electricity connection plan for 2,497 new projects. The medium and low voltage network was extended by a total length exceeding 167.6 kilometers, 1,072 electrical distribution panels were approved according to the approved technical specifications, and 3,399 technical inspections were carried out on buildings and projects.

SEWA succeeded in issuing 807 preliminary electricity inspection certificates to facilitate the procedures for connecting electricity to subscribers, and carried out 41,406 maintenance operations for road lighting assets, and more than 3,938 maintenance and technical support procedures in the electricity distribution stations of the 11 kV network.

Engineer Ahmed Al Bas, Deputy Director of the Electricity Distribution Department, explained that the new connections included various projects distributed across the residential, commercial, industrial, and governmental sectors, reflecting the rapid growth in various sectors and the Authority’s commitment to providing its services with high efficiency and reliability that meet the needs of subscribers and new urban expansions, as the Authority’s work teams were keen to expedite the technical inspection processes and connect the service as soon as the approved safety conditions and specifications were met.

He added that work is underway, according to an integrated strategy, to upgrade distribution networks and develop existing networks to accommodate additional loads and ensure the reliability and stability of electricity supply to all projects in the emirate.
