Engineer Abdulrahman Boukhalaf, Director of Water and Desalination Plants at SEWA, affirmed that the authority continues supporting vital strategic government projects related to local production and enhancing food security.
During the first half of 2026, SEWA supplied the wheat and dairy farms of Mleiha, the poultry farm, Sharjah Safari, and government projects with more than 1.25 billion gallons of water. The supplies included 1,029,990,940 gallons of water for the wheat farms, 151,429,300 gallons for the dairy farm, and 10,716,640 gallons for the poultry farm, with the aim of securing a sustainable water supply to support local production and contribute to enhancing the food security system in the Emirate of Sharjah.
He explained that advanced water infrastructure has been provided to support strategic food security projects, ensuring the irrigation of crops and meeting the needs of livestock according to the highest standards of quality and sustainability, to support food self-sufficiency.
Boukhalaf added that the authority also provided 34,072,720 gallons of water for the Sharjah Safari project.
