Institute of Judicial Sciences launches forum for seconded judges

Sharjah 24: Work got under way at the Sharjah Institute of Judicial Sciences this week on a judicial induction forum for judges seconded to serve in the courts of the Emirate of Sharjah. The forum, which runs until 13 August, aims to familiarise the visiting judges with the judicial and administrative framework of Sharjah's courts and to strengthen their readiness to take up their duties efficiently.

The opening of the forum was attended by Judge Dr Mohammed Obaid Al Kaabi, Chairman of the Sharjah Judicial Department; Judge Ahmed Abdullah Al Mulla, President of the Court of Cassation; Counsellor Anwar Amin Al Harmoudi, Attorney General of Sharjah; Dr Salama Rashid Al Ketbi, Chairperson of the Judicial Inspection Department; Judge Dr Omar Al Ghoul, Chairman of the Courts of First Instance; and Sheikh Faisal bin Ali Al Mualla, the Secretary-General of the Judicial Council. A number of other officials, judge and participants were also present.

A comprehensive induction programme

The forum offers a full programme of introductory sessions, meetings and activities held at the Sharjah Institute of Judicial Sciences. It focuses on familiarising the seconded judges with the judicial and administrative system, as well as the procedure and mechanisms adopted across Sharjah's courts, helping them settle smoothly into their new working environment and carry out their duties in line with best practice.

Part of a wider drive to raise judicial standards

The forum forms part of the Sharjah Judicial Department's broader efforts to strengthen the efficiency of the judicial system and to enhance the overall quality of judicial services.  foster a supportive professional environment for judges.
