Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Archives organised a dialogue session titled “Between Generations” under the theme “Between Experience and Ambition”, held at the Al Dhaid Wildlife Museum as part of the Year of the Family activities. The session aimed to foster dialogue between generations, promote the exchange of expertise and knowledge, and draw on national experiences to help build a more integrated future.

The session featured Dr Salem Zayed Al Tunaiji, an academic, lecturer and expert with an extensive career in education, training and scientific research, representing the generation of experience. He was joined by Huwaiden Mohammed Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Central Region Youth Council, representing the generation of youth and ambition.

The session explored four main themes, during which the two speakers reflected on the early milestones that shaped their respective careers, as well as the transformations in education, work and lifestyles. They also discussed the key challenges facing each generation, stressing the importance of turning these challenges into opportunities for learning and success through the exchange of experience between generations.

The session also highlighted that authentic values remain constant despite changing times, with the family and community playing a pivotal role in instilling these values in successive generations.

It concluded with inspiring messages from both speakers, who emphasised the importance of investing in young people's potential and strengthening the integration of experience and ambition to build a more prosperous future.

The session is part of the community programmes organised by the Sharjah Archives, in line with its mission to preserve the national memory and raise awareness of the value of human experiences. It does so by providing dialogue platforms that contribute to transferring knowledge between generations and reinforcing national identity.
