The new issue (83) of “The Theatre” magazine, which is published monthly by the Department of Culture in Sharjah, includes a diverse collection of critical readings, dialogues, follow-ups and letters that monitor the most prominent features of the theatrical movement in Sharjah and the world.

This issue includes a report on the generous donation from His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for the 19th theatrical season. The section also covers the events of "Emirati Theatre Day," organized by the UAE Theatrical Association on July 2nd, and features an extensive survey highlighting the experience of the "Kalba Short Plays Festival," in preparation for its 13th edition, which will be held from September 25th to October 1st.

The issue includes several topics such as: critical and analytical articles about plays; an interview with the Tunisian artist Jalila Baccar about her early beginnings and her vision of the transformations of the current theatrical scene; Hassan Yousfi’s trip to Norway and her inspiring tourism investment in the legacy of its renowned playwriter, Henrik Ibsen; a dialogue with the Syrian artist Assaad Feddah on the occasion of his winning the “Sharjah Award for Arab Theatrical Creativity” in its eighteenth edition, and another dialogue with the Tunisian artist Salim Senhaji after his appointment as director of the Carthage Theatre Days.
