The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that four Palestinians were killed and four others were injured, including three in critical condition. According to the Israeli army, Israeli civilians were targeted before its forces returned fire at the attackers.
An Israeli man in his 30s was killed in the incident, while two others in their 20s sustained injuries and were evacuated by helicopter, according to the Magen David Adom ambulance service.
In response to the incident, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to respond “decisively” and announced he would hold a security meeting to discuss further measures. Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich also called for a strong military response.
The attack marks the latest escalation amid rising tensions and increased violence in the occupied West Bank since the outbreak of the Gaza war.
