Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the annual programme is organised under the Quranic theme "And establish prayer for my remembrance". The scholarly session continues until 2 July.
As the programme entered its second week, participants attended a newly introduced lecture entitled “The Virtue of Sending Blessings upon the Prophet (PBUH)”, based on Al-Shifa bi Ta'rif Huquq al-Mustafa by Qadi Iyad.
The lecture is delivered by Prof. Dr Mohand Mishnan, who explores the significance of invoking blessings and peace upon Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), explaining its spiritual merits, educational value, and its impact on strengthening faith and refining personal conduct, supported by authentic Islamic texts.
The scholarly session continues to feature a wide range of lectures delivered by leading scholars and specialists in Islamic sciences.
Dr Turki Al Qahtani continues his explanation of the rulings on purification and prayer from Al-Ajwibah Al Jaliyyah (clarifying answers), while Dr Abdul Karim Mustafa presents lectures on the objectives of prayer and its role in spiritual purification.
Meanwhile, Prof. Dr Abdul Samie Al Anees is still explaining Surat Al-Fatihah and the last chapters of Juz’ Amma (the thirtieth section of the Quran), along with readings from the Book of Prayer in Mukhtasar Sahih Muslim, and participants can earn an ijazah with a connected chain of transmission (isnad).
The programme also includes theoretical and practical lessons in Tajweed, delivered by Sheikh Hassan Al Adawi.
The organising committee described the Scholarly Session as one of Sharjah’s most prominent and long-standing educational initiatives, reflecting more than 26 years of continuous commitment to promoting authentic Islamic knowledge.
The committee noted that this year’s edition marks a new phase following the integration of the Al Muntada Al Islami into the Department of Islamic Affairs, strengthening institutional cooperation in serving Islamic scholarship, promoting values of moderation and balance, and expanding the reach of educational and community programmes.
Beyond its lectures, the scholarly session also includes a range of accompanying programmes, including granting an ijazah with a connected chain of narration in Mukhtasar Sahih Muslim to participants who meet the required academic standards.
A daily knowledge competition is also being held to encourage participants to review lessons, reinforce learning, and maintain engagement throughout the session.
Al Muntada Al Islami’s media committee continues to broadcast all lectures live via its social media platforms, while full recordings are made available on its official YouTube channel, enabling audiences inside and outside the UAE to benefit from the programme.
Al Muntada Al Islami has renewed its invitation to members of the community and students of Islamic knowledge to take advantage of the remaining days of the Scholarly Session, which offers an integrated programme covering fiqh, Quranic exegesis, hadith, spiritual development, and Tajweed while deepening understanding of prayer, its rulings, objectives, and spiritual impact in the life of a Muslim.
