Japan took an early lead through Daichi Kamada in the fourth minute, before Ayase Ueda doubled the advantage in the 31st minute, putting the Asian side firmly in control before half-time.
Junya Ito added a third goal in the 69th minute, while Ueda completed his brace with Japan’s fourth in the 83rd minute, sealing a comprehensive victory.
The result lifted Japan to four points, level with the group leaders, the Netherlands, who also won their second-round fixture against Sweden on goal difference.
Tunisia, having suffered back-to-back defeats, can no longer progress to the knockout stage and will conclude their campaign with a final group match against the Netherlands.
