The majlis witnessed the participation of representatives from Al Hamriyah Municipality, Sharjah Sports Council, and Sharjah Municipality, underscoring the importance of institutional partnerships in supporting cultural and knowledge initiatives and enhancing communication and the exchange of experiences among government entities.
Huda Al Yasi, Director of the Financial System Department and Secretary-General of the Reading Majlis at the Sharjah Finance Department, stated that the majlis shows the department’s commitment to building a culture of knowledge and ongoing learning. It also promotes a work environment that encourages creativity and the sharing of ideas and experiences. This supports the growth of individual and institutional abilities and helps advance government excellence.
She added, “The majlis serves as a model for integration and cooperation among government bodies in Sharjah. It provides a platform for dialogue and sharing experiences and ideas. This enhances the value of institutional partnerships and promotes a reading culture, which is essential for sustainable development and knowledge building. This knowledge can support development and innovation.”
The majlis started its activities with a session called "Discussing Your Favorite Book." Participants examined books that had impacted their lives. They shared thoughts on the key ideas and lessons gained from the books.
The majlis also featured a panel discussion called "Technology and Its Impact on Our Lives," which was about how technology and social media shape modern knowledge patterns. They examined the effects on reading habits and human relationships. They also discussed the opportunities and challenges that fast digital changes bring to individuals and institutions.
In a special session called "How to Become a Writer?", the majlis welcomed author Mahmoud Hassan, who shared his background experiences in writing, the obstacles he faced, and the importance of ongoing reading for improving a writer's skills. He also provided practical tips for aspiring writers on developing their writing styles and turning their ideas into meaningful literary works.
The majlis also witnessed the organization of a range of interactive games, challenges and cultural activities that created an atmosphere of enthusiasm and interaction among the participants.
