Sharjah 24: Amal Almaeeni, Acting Director of the Girls' Welfare Department at Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah, has announced a new initiative aimed at recruiting 100 new members. Running on June 6th and 7th, the membership drive is being hosted across the foundation's three primary branches in Sharjah, Khorfakkan, and Kalba.

According to Almaeeni, the campaign is designed to welcome new talent while motivating existing members to explore their potential. The foundation provides specialized development opportunities across seven core pillars, including arts, sports, literature and languages, theatre, music, life skills, and science and technology.

In a statement to Sharjah 24, she emphasised that these disciplines give participants a firsthand look at Sajaya’s community services and empower young women to unlock their unique capabilities.

Hands-on learning across diverse skill tracks

The initiative, officially titled “Zawaya Sajaya,” features an extensive lineup of interactive workshops tailored to various interests. The sports track offers practical training sessions in basketball, volleyball, and fencing, while the literature and languages track introduces creative writing exploration through a specialised crime literature workshop.

Participants interested in vocational and practical arts can join a hands-on soap-making session in the life skills track. Visual arts development is heavily featured, with workshops covering the design of mosaic cup moulds, ceramic painting, and collaborative group installations.

For performance art enthusiasts, the theatre and music tracks host the interactive “Our Theatre” workshop alongside introductory classes on piano basics. Finally, the science and technology track builds analytical and technical skills through a "Create and Design" session and an intriguing workshop titled “Forensic Science: Where the Evidence Speaks.”
