In statements to Sharjah 24, Al Shamsi stated that the aquarium sought to make the event a platform for introducing the contributions of photographers specialising in underwater photography and the challenges they face while documenting marine life. He noted that the exhibition features outstanding photographs reflecting the diversity and beauty of the UAE’s marine environment.
Al Shamsi affirmed that the exhibition will run for two weeks, from 4 to 18 June, giving visitors the opportunity to explore the displayed photographs and ignite minds about the environmental messages they convey. He added that the event also included a guided tour of the aquarium and a brief presentation highlighting its key activities and achievements in marine environmental awareness and conservation.
The Secretary-General noted that the Emirates Diving Association contributed to the event by delivering a specialised workshop on the fundamentals of underwater photography, in addition to an open discussion session that enabled participants to exchange views and experiences regarding the challenges facing marine ecosystems and ways to promote responsible practices for protecting marine life.
Al Shamsi invited visitors to attend the exhibition and benefit from its educational and visual content. He stressed that the event’s main message is to reinforce the importance of preserving a healthy and sustainable marine environment for future generations.
