Sharjah24: The Emirates Publishers Association (EPA) is once again taking Emirati creativity in children’s publishing to a global audience through its participation in the China Shanghai International Children’s Book Fair 2025 (CCBF), one of the leading international platforms dedicated to children’s literature and publishing.

This participation represents a strategic step by the EPA to open new horizons for Emirati publishers, fostering professional collaboration with publishers across Asia, building cultural bridges with peers in Asian markets, and showcasing Emirati and Arabic content for children in a rapidly evolving international publishing landscape.

Strategic meetings and international industry engagement

During this prestigious international fair, the EPA will focus on a series of strategic meetings and professional interactions with industry experts from around the world, represented by four of its members: Ajyaal Publishing House, Hayaza Personalized Books, Dal for Publishing and Distribution, and Sohub Publishing and Distribution.

These meetings aim to explore opportunities for collaboration in the sale and acquisition of children’s book rights as well as the translation of selected international and Chinese titles into Arabic. The initiative highlights Emirati publishing expertise in children’s literature and strengthens their presence on the international stage.

Strengthening cultural exchange and the creative economy

His Excellency Rashid Al Kous, Executive Director of the Emirates Publishers Association, emphasised that participation in China Shanghai International Children’s Book Fair forms part of a strategic direction to enhance Emirati and Arabic presence in the global publishing scene and to expand communication channels with Asian markets, which are experiencing rapid growth in children’s books. He noted:

"We believe that books are a bridge for cultural understanding, and investing in children’s literature is investing in the future and knowledge. Therefore, we strive to leave a distinctive mark on the most prominent international literary platforms, such as this one, which brings together creators and knowledge experts from nearly thirty countries worldwide, opening doors for limitless cooperation and cultural exchange."

He added: "Through this participation, we aim to bring the story of the Emirati child to libraries around the world, contributing to the development of the publishing industry, enhancing the creative economy in the United Arab Emirates, and cementing its position as a leading hub for literary innovation, shaping the future of publishing in the region."

This participation reflects the EPA’s commitment to representing the Emirati publishing sector on international platforms, promoting the dissemination of knowledge, and fostering cultural dialogue between nations.
