Sharjah 24 – AFP: The Phoenix Suns returned to winning form in the NBA, defeating the visiting Los Angeles Clippers 115-102.

The Suns regained their momentum and handed the Clippers their third consecutive loss, beating them 115-102 in the latest NBA encounter.

Fourth win in nine games

Securing their fourth win in nine games, the Suns had faced a setback in their 107-118 loss to the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday, despite Jaylen Green’s 29-point performance marking his return from injury.

Hamstring tear

Green, acquired by Phoenix this summer in the trade that sent Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets, suffered a hamstring tear during preseason training and missed the Suns’ first eight games.

Record-breaking three-pointers in debut

The 23-year-old returned strongly, shooting 10-for-20 from the field and hitting a record-breaking six three-pointers in his Suns debut. He also contributed three rebounds and three assists in just 23 minutes.

Devin Booker added 24 points, six rebounds, and seven assists for the Suns, who were without Canadian Dillon Brooks, another part of the Durant trade.

The Suns overcame a three-point halftime deficit (48-51) to take a 14-point lead after a dominant 40-23 third-quarter run, extending their advantage to 20 points at one stage.

Green and Booker substituted

Phoenix maintained their control in the final quarter, expanding their lead to 25 points before coach Jordan Ott substituted Green and Booker with 7:14 remaining. The Suns eventually won by 13 points.

Ivica Zubac shines for the clippers

Bosnian Ivica Zubac was a standout for the Clippers, who were missing key players Kawhi Leonard (injured) and James Harden (personal reasons).

This defeat marked the Clippers’ third straight loss and their fifth in eight games this season.
