Sharjah 24: At the 44th Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF 2025), visitors, especially schoolchildren, are flocking to the interactive “Ink Your Thoughts” video booth at the social media station. Participants can write their personal thoughts—from school memories to why they love SIBF—on a blackboard in complete privacy.

Capturing personal expressions

“I wish I could get a PS5,” scribbled one schoolboy on the storyboard, reflecting the variety of messages shared at the booth. Mohammad Walid Khan, facilitator of the activation, explained that the booth aligns with SIBF 2025’s theme ‘Between you and the book’, allowing participants to express their feelings after reading a book or about any personal thoughts.

The booth records the writing session and sends a video to participants via WhatsApp, offering a unique and memorable interactive experience.

How it works

Visitors register using a QR code before stepping behind the black curtain to write with a chalk marker. They are free to write about books, literature, personal stories, or anything that connects them to the world, capturing the essence of self-expression and creativity.

The managing company reported that the booth welcomed around 40 visitors during the first half of SIBF 2025, with contributions ranging from reflections on school and future aspirations to personal musings.

Social media station and the Fair’s theme

The interactive booth emphasises the influence of social media in modern creative expression. Its design, in bold black-and-white letters like book pages, makes it one of the most attention-grabbing pavilions at SIBF 2025.

Sharjah International Book Fair 2025 highlights
