SCFA Cultural Office hosts three inspiring sessions at SIBF

Sharjah24: The Cultural Office of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah (SCFA) invites visitors to three distinctive cultural events at the 44th Sharjah International Book Fair 2025, held from 5 November under the theme “Between You and the Book” — a celebration of words, knowledge and creativity.

The programme begins on 6 November with a Cultural Salon dialogue featuring Emirati theatre pioneer Samira Ahmed, highlighting the journey of Emirati women in enriching local and Arab theatre.

On 7 November, the Signing Corner hosts the launch of Dr Wafa Al Shamsi’s book “Semiotics of Characters in the Winning Plays of the Sharjah Award for Arab Creativity,” offering literary and intellectual analysis of award-winning theatrical characters.

Capturing memory through travel writing

The SCFA concludes its participation on 13 November with the Sharjah Cultural Salon session “Travel Literature and Its Role in Shaping the Memory of Place,” featuring Dr Faisal Al Suwaidi, exploring how travel narratives document human and intellectual experiences.

The office confirmed that its participation reflects the vision of the Cultural Office of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in promoting culture as a human value that enhances communication and creativity, encouraging the public to attend and engage with leading cultural figures who embody the spirit of Sharjah.
