This came during the King Salman Global Academy for the Arabic Language’s announcement of the winners of the award in its fourth session for 2025, one of the most prestigious awards dedicated to celebrating outstanding efforts in serving the Arabic language and enhancing its status.
The Academy awarded ALECGS the prize for its participation in the institutional category, in recognition of its distinguished contributions to serving the Arabic language, which have evolved into a comprehensive project for developing Arabic language education.
Through a strategic vision and systematic scientific practices, the centre has translated into high-quality initiatives, including the design of educational programmes and the development of methodological guides and frameworks for the advancement of Arabic language teaching and learning in numerous areas.
These include: developing policies for evaluating language performance; developing standards for teaching Arabic; developing the content of Arabic language curricula in the areas of Arabism and the Arab dimension; developing standards for selecting, preparing, and training Arabic language teachers; developing Arabic language teaching strategies; and creating a reference framework for teaching Arabic to speakers of other languages: "Composition – Teaching – Training," as well as frameworks for international and regional Arabic language tests.
ALECGS has also contributed to the development of educational policies and Arabic language teaching strategies in the Gulf countries, and the creation of assessment tools and performance indicators to improve learning outcomes, targeting teachers and educational administrations. Its scholarly output, including studies, reports, and training manuals, has become a reliable resource that has contributed to strengthening the presence of Arabic in educational plans.
ALECGS is distinguished by its regional and international partnerships, its sustainable professional programmes, and its use of modern technologies in education, reflecting institutional maturity and sustained performance. The winners are scheduled to be honoured at a ceremony held under the patronage of His Highness Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al Saud, Minister of Culture of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on Sunday, 30 November 2025, in Riyadh.
