UAE Sailing and Rowing Federation holds first meeting

Sharjah 24: The UAE Sailing and Rowing Federation (SARF), chaired by Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, held its first meeting on Al Fahid Island in Abu Dhabi following the announcement of the new Board of Directors. The meeting was attended by board members: Mohammed Abdullah Hareb Al Falahi, Vice President; Mohammed Abdullah Al Obaidli, Secretary General; Mohammed Obaid bin Majid Al Alili; Khalid Sultan Al Owais; Mansour Al Fahim; Hadi Al Askari; Reem Al Buainain Al Mazrouei; and Saif Rashid Khalifa Al Muhairi.

Welcome to new board members

At the start of the meeting, Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamdan welcomed the new members, wishing them success and expressing confidence in their ability to develop the Federation’s work and enhance the status of sailing and modern rowing both locally and internationally.

Leadership support and teamwork

Sheikh Ahmed praised the support sports receive from the UAE’s leadership and thanked the Ministry of Sports and the National Olympic Committee for their efforts in empowering sports federations. He emphasiسed the importance of teamwork and cooperation with clubs, sports councils, and relevant institutions to further develop marine sports and nurture national talent.

Agenda and future plans

The meeting reviewed the Board of Directors’ responsibilities, discussed the promotion of sailing and modern rowing, highlighted the 2025 achievements, and planned schedules for local and international events in 2025 and 2026, alongside future development initiatives.

Committee appointments

Administrative portfolios were assigned among board members: Khalid Al Owais – Chairman of the Technical and Sports Committee; Reem Al Mazrouei – Chairperson of the Community Committee; and Mansour Al Fahim – Chairman of the Marketing and Investment Committee.
